Opening & Closing the Aura

In this class, students will learn the Opening and Closing Spiral Technique developed by Dr. W. Brugh Joy, adopted to Reiki by Master, John Harvey Gray and taught to me by my Reiki Master, Brian Brunius. Using the Opening Spiral at the beginning of every Reiki treatment and the Closing Spiral at their conclusion allows clients to absorb more Reiki during their treatments and retain that energy longer than they otherwise would.

NOTE: This class will be most useful to students who have already taken Reiki First Degree.

  • What is exercise therapy?

Exercise therapy is very similar to what most people know as physical therapy. Exercise therapy, in its most basic form, involves prescribed movement to rectify deficiencies, restore muscle and skeletal function, and maintain a state of well-being. The scientific data establishing the positive effects of exercise is undeniable, and in most adults, the benefits considerably outweigh the hazards. What's the difference between exercise and physical activity? The contraction of skeletal muscle that creates bodily movement and demands energy is referred to as physical activity. Exercise is a planned and executed physical activity with the purpose of improving or maintaining physical fitness.

  • What is reiki?

Reiki, pronounced “ray-key,” is an ancient, non-invasive, laying on of hands, therapeutic technique. The term derives from the Japanese words, “Rei,” meaning “universal,” and “Ki,” meaning “life force energy.” Through the use of palm healing, Reiki practitioners serve as conduits to the healing energy that is available to all sentient beings. Energy flows from the hands of the practitioner into the cells of the person being treated. This results in a rebalancing and harmonizing for the client on emotional, physical and spiritual planes.

Ultimately, all explanations of Reiki prove inadequate in their descriptions. Like anything, Reiki is best understood through the experience of it. After all, if we want to know what WATER tastes like, we must drink it.

Simply put, Reiki supports your body’s ability to come into harmony and balance with itself. If you are tired, you will feel rested. If you are anxious, you will discover greater serenity. If you are feeling overwhelmed or unsettled, Reiki will help you connect to a deeper sense of peace and centeredness.

The ability to heal is as natural as breath itself. Reiki awakens you to your own self-healing prowess, bolsters your vitality and furthers your spiritual development. Come experience a return to balance and deeper connection!

  • What is a bodyworker?

A massage therapist differs from a bodyworker in that a massage therapist will do the same massage and strokes every time. No matter what is different in your body, they will offer you the same massage. A bodyworker is someone who creates long-term, revolutionary change. A bodyworker notices a trend in a person's physical body and attempts to modify it. Manipulation therapy, breathwork, and energy medicine are all part of the bodywork. Bodywork techniques attempt to analyze or improve posture as well as raise awareness of the "body-mind connection."

  • Will you come to my home?

If you request one of my sessions, I can perform my work in the comfort of your own home, or I can go to a business that is set up for contractors. I aim to find the location that will be the most relaxing and convenient for my clients.
